Hello Families,

I am Wendy A. Noakes, the Special Education Resource Teacher at Lake Nokomis Community School-Keewaydin Campus. I work with students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). The resource students spend the majority of their school day with nondisabled peers in the general education setting. Additional support (reading, math, writing, behavior managements, organization, study skills etc...) are provided either in the general education classroom or in the resource room. 

I started teaching at Keewaydin the fall of 2009. I attended Minneapolis Public School in elementary (Wilder Fundamental), middle (Sanford Middle School) and high school (Roosevelt). I graduated from Concordia University-St. Paul with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education ( grades 1-6). I completed the Special Education masters program at Bethel University in St. Paul with licensure in Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD), and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). 





News and Notes

4TH QUARTER- The 4th quarter ends on June 14th. The last day for students is the 14th. The last day for teaching and other staff is June 15th. 

The 7th and 8th grade students will be going to Valleyfair on June 14th. 

MINNESOTA COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT (MCA)-The 7th and 8th grade students will be taking the MCAs in reading and math the week of May 1st. The 8th grade students will take the Science MCA on Wednesday May 10th. Students will have 2 days of testing 1st and 2nd hour and 2 days of testing 3rd and 4th hour.
