3/15/17 Wednesday:

I can define white light
I can identify what happens when you put white light through a prism.
Do now: What causes the colors of a rainbow?
Visible light lab
*When light leaves one material such as air and enters another, such as glass or water, it is refracted as it passes through the new material. Due to the shape of a prism or water droplet, the incoming white light is separated out into its component colors so it appears as a rainbow.
Vocabulary: White light: A combination of all colors in the viable spectrum
* Colors of white light: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
Exit ticket: How does a prism affect white light?
