Some families ask about homework for their Kindergartners. Although we will not usually have formal homework assignments, I will send ideas on how you can help your child at home. Often I will include a section in the weekly newsletter called “Homework Ideas.” In this section, I will include websites, talking points, and any other suggestions of activities that families can do with their children to support what we are doing at school.
The very best way to help your child at home is to allow time for your child to play, explore, be outside, talk about what happens at school, and also to READ TO YOUR CHILD EVERY DAY!
Listed below are some ideas that you and your child can do at home:
Practice star words (reading)
Keep a daily journal (writing)
ST Math (math)
Practice letters/sounds (reading)
